I'm a consultant electronics engineer by profession (now semi retired due to ill health) and a member of the Aeron Vale Allotment Society on the west coast of Wales in the UK.
I've been gardening for over 35 years - since 1976 - and I think I've just about got the hang of it by now!!! However I'd say that no gardener would know it all, even if he had an eternity to learn and practice. I regularly answer members questions in The Gardeners Chat-Shed and regulary provide advice to gardening "newbies".
I am the Webmaster of our AWARD WINNING website at www.aberaeronallotments.org. The gardener's social networking site at: www.gardenerschat-shed.net/ is also my baby.
I'm married with 4 sons aged from 35 - 16 (tried to get a family 7 aside rugby team together but the oldest 2 got too old to play before I could muster another 3 to complete the team ;-) I have one grandson (Cai in Llandybie) and two granddaughters (Bethan and Eleanor in Birkenhead) - our pride and joy.
My allotment is my little haven to get away from all the artificial stresses and pressures of the world. In latter years I've embraced the organic methods of fresh veg produce for the family. My favorite gardening experts are Dr D. G. Hessayon, Monty Don (the best gardening presenter to ever grace our TV screens) and Terry Walton (I worked and lived in the Rhondda Valley for 13 years and Terry just epitomizes the warmth, humour and down to earthness of the people in that neck of the woods).
The one gardening place on earth I would like to experience is Cuba and the Organoponicos revolution that's taken place there.
